Hello and welcome back to the blog. This post will relatively be terse as the one prior. I want to matriculate from my corporeal and presence. Weeks have passed (as I’am forever changing my appearance) and I currently colored my hair grey. Nonetheless, I couldn’t refrain from sharing this assorted shoot being my last outfit taken while still rocking my yellow hair. Primarily, I want to move forward w/ future post reflecting real time which is on deck for the next blog post.

Metallic Dynamite – 4th of July

I was bit indecisive going with the whole traditional red, white and blue representation scheme for an outfit on the 4th of July. I was invited to a rooftop party that subsume live music, food and fireworks you can see sky rocket up from the city skyline so I was positive I wanted to sport something flashy or categorical to that. Browsing through my dresser for options, I reached for a sleeveless hoodie I purchased during the spring and yet to wear. Mainly because of the ostentatious shine (wearing anything metallic) I said “….fuck it, I’ll just add red and blue but my way.”

My top has faux leather featuring a metallic finish, a sleeveless cut, and raw-cut cropped hem which I knotted up a bit in the front since it fits me pretty baggy. A good thing to mention is its versatility between being stylish and the advantage it has transitioning between looks. Formality, It’s an active hoodie made for athletic purposes, light weight and breathable fabric so you wont die while working out or melt from just standing/running outside considering summer temperatures and all. Or as an alternative, completely surpassing through it to switch that bitch up to your liking!

To incorporate the color “red” I slipped into satin shorts with a smocked elasticized waistband, curved hem and snap-button closure at the sides that essentially looked dynamite together with the hoodie.

To finish off the color scheme with “blue” I wore an off blueish-gray Nikes that are actually really old, I hardly wore them but still hold great value. These sneakers were a birthday present many light years ago.

Ombre nails for approximation & points of gold accessories for that contrast.

Hawaiian Hibiscus

Ok so originally, I planned on wearing a long flowy maxi  bottom or pencil skirt with this top. On the other hand, I was heading over to my girl’s birthday party which was taking place on the rooftop of her building. Putting thought into it realistically,  wearing a skirt would not have been the greatest choice throughout the day rolling into the night most importantly if I wanted to dance without any high rises.  Instead, I slipped on a pair of loose fitted acid washed joggers w/ elasticized drawstring and leg cuffs along with enough room to move & groove.

I often get asked “who does your braids” and I do them myself. Keeping up w/ it can be time-consuming but I take good pride behind the whole process of maintaining it including the labor and all lol! I revel in changing up the style of my braids whether it’s up, down, ponytail, space buns or wrapped. Leaving it down, I twisted my braids to create more of a bulkier look adding a colorful Hawaiian hibiscus flower hair clip with alligator clasps to provide grip & hold.

  • Fun Fact – I am Salvadorian, French & Hawaiian born in Mexico and raised in Queens, New York since 1 year old.

My shirt features all over Hawaiian hibiscus and leaf print with a basic collar, button down front closures, short sleeves and point hem which I tied up into a knot to add some edginess. Accessorizing the shirt, I wore a sea shell brooch I purchased from Paradox Thrift Shop. This shop is one of my favorite local thrift stores here in New York. Ask for Jessi, she’s the sweetest person ever<3

I even accessorize my braids too!
