Self Blueprint

SELF BLUEPRINT

There is a romance with the notion of an artist, minimal or divided when you first see something brand new, chances are you will feel uncomfortable.

But this is what is necessary of creation, manufactured. release the less fabrication. Brainiac, scaling independent genius, feeling closer to the earth. Work full of references, be your own self blueprint.

through my art I can be sharing my knowledge or sharing my pain.

Respect the schedule, describe the work, access memory bank. Totally unknown, terribly young and very ambitious. Latching on vibrant high energy translated above the surface, injected permanently on canvas skin. Great eye with quality on all different fields.

Non influential choices not made based by what is popular at the time, create your own self blueprint.

Understanding where to position yourself, confirmation and convenience. In the mist of nothing to lose and nothing to prove.

The 90’s

Have you ever wanted to go back into time or felt you were born in the wrong generation?

This is an oldie but a goodie. Main eras that I am downright gratified by, dipping into on a regular are the 50’s-60’s, 90’s,  including bits and pieces of the 80’s and Victorian era. As the 1990’s plays a significant portion of my everyday, I perpetually been enthralled with the rawness of development, creativity, style, fashion and music. Emerging diverse grounds while evolving, I feel fortunate to hold recollection of all surroundings, the ambience and my community building as a young kid from Queens, New York.

Granted, I grew up in a household which consist of listening to Rock -n-Roll, alternative, disco, rockabilly, hip hop and r&b, I indulge in styling/mix-matching and combining eras. One thing is, I  do not allow myself to fall under any restrictions nor full commitments to dispense a particular image. I am a chameleon and my moto is “Style is what you want it to be”

Guatemalan Textile Bomber

Lots of life must have lived in this jacket antecedent to it finding me, I envisage the long haul drudgery of looped woven stitches to it’s finalization and distribution. My mind wonders trickling across thrift clothing and self perception. For example,  If you wear a white coat that you believe belongs to a doctor, your ability to pay attention increases sharply. But if you wear the same white coat believing it belongs to a painter, your attention span may differ. I love the idea of trying to figure out why when we put on certain clothes, the affects of our mood & basic abilities shift. This is my perception & aesthetic w/ this jacket, some worn pieces say a lot without saying anything at all.

I bought my ostentatious bomber jacket from Resale Folds, one of my favorite treasured thrift shops to shop – ask for Lucia & Jesse. They both own & restock all items w/ detailed vision alongside infectious personalities you will not be able to stir away from, genuinely prodigious human beings. This magnum opus is a beautiful vibrant vintage handmade Guatemalan textile patchwork style bomber jacket. Its a unisex multicolored stripes and pattern weave background, cotton batwing long sleeve w/ a front zipper, stand up collar, ribbed knit cuffs, two inset pockets, rib knit elastic waist band, boxy shoulder fit and some neon love.

I made usage of comparable color scheme scarf I owned which is actually a knot-wrap for gift wrapping from Lush. For the past years, this has been my “go to” buying most of these wraps turning them into head scarfs. I gelled my front hair, throwing the rest of it in a rivet messy half ponytail as coupling my curls hanging out whimsically.

I wore light weight beige thermal underneath, standard blue jeans adjacent to Converse Chuck Taylor multi-colored sequin sneakers with upper a reflective patch and a cushioned insole. Kept the jewelry light wearing only my gold hoop earrings, cat eyeliner, mauve nude lipstick from MAC Cosmetics (I can’t remember the shade) zing green eyeshadow from Jane Cosmestics in the inner tear dot for that pop of radiance & highlight.  Closing out the outfit, I clinched a large pin across the collar to keep that up-right effect w/out having to “pop my collar” consistently – worked like a charm!

Stripes & Corduroy

Im writing this post from a place of confusion and intramural emotions. I gotta give myself an entirety mind, body & soul reset while keeping my eye on the prize and rolling w/ the punches amongst a shitty situation because fuck it – the show must go on.  Im taking deep gasps and exhales reminding myself when you feel lost and tangled, distinguish each sound. And when there is none, let the rhythm of your own breath bring you back to state of peace & presence.

With that being said, moving on – –  I am an admirer of patterned stripes anything as it furthermore grabs my attention. For a bit, I have been eyeballing a sweatshirt online by Nike throw on and go crewneck w/ dropped shoulders, stripped design, Nike swoosh logo and relaxed fit for a slouchy silhouette. At first, I wasn’t so quick to buying the sweater being too pricey for my liking. I figured, if its meant to be I’ll catch it on sale which eventually I did for 50% off few weeks later.

I instantly knew the crewneck would work well w/ my classic high top Chuck Taylors from Converse that features a vintage inspired wale wide corduroy fabric and topped w/ the iconic All Star patch and insole for maximum comfort. I mingled in wearing thrifted light washed jeans w/ my tan-ish brown corduroy fanny pack with zippered front pockets and a top closure, grosgrain waist belt strap, and a release buckle closure which I picked up from Forever21 on a whim during the fall. Although, both corduroy items both have different shades of brown, it still all mixes well. To finish off the look, I threw my hair up in faux bangs w/ a sheer white thrifted head scarf to channel my inner love for the 50’s & 60’s era as mixing it w/ modern times. Added some blue eye shadow, my signature cat eye, lip gloss & gold hoop earrings.

“Creativity Can’t Be Quarantined”

Hey guys, I hope you are all safe & healthy. With the state and chaos w/ Covid-19, Ive been indecisive on pushing back the relaunch of my blog, as I have – easing into the shift of humanity worldwide yet not being desensitized among current events. I do deem a jovial place for artists to be exactly that artists, create content and expand which these days shine to do so for uplifting. Veritably, Ive had some hard knocks with the consistency. However, here I am with a greater ambition and appetite to continue this odyssey as equivalent to the very beginning from when I first started blogging. In conclusion, progressing forward w/ new material featuring various looks, mix-matching eras, colors, contrast & patterns together pieces at a time in hopes my website can bring some light & comfort during these asperous times.

For all my readers who have been around since day one, the current, very new ones and those who may have even stumble across my site, welcome & welcome back!

Synchronically combing black on black top & hat w/ a splash contrasting zebra and camouflage print, I spurred up this look. The dominant pick of clothing stemmed from the Champion Heavyweight Mock Neck long sleeve with branded detailing and rib-knit trim in a men size medium I purchased last fall in urban outfitters (linked above).  Wearing a thrifted soft-knit black beret accessorizing using two pins which one of the pins I bought from Midtown Comics and the other is a “Ranchero Pin” from La Sirena NYC. I fused in my skinny ripped camo jeans from Forever 21.

My tan snatched belt was thrifted ages ago adding some warmth against the darker colors. My kicks are zebra print converse which is no longer stocked on the website but I’ll link HERE the exact replica featured under “Chuck 70 Archive” still available online with a higher chunk on the heel and different finish as this one applies a leather-ish feel and the sneakers Im wearing are fabric like and flat heeled. I straightened my hair  wearing it sleeked down and whipped on a foresty green lipstick  in the shade “Raunchy” from Coloured Raine cosmetics.

In the clouds

I just adore this outfit, reverencing straightforward it was a must have at first sight type deal for me. Although, theres an avalanche of ways I could/can style this outfit, with its image and central colors I appointed to designate the approach of a playful structure while still sustaining an adolescent appearance. The atmospheric climate conditions was on point as I voice to convey the importance on this being how it affects how to clothe, bundle up, swathe & array yourself before stepping outdoors, am I right?

I wore a dreamy Lazy Oaf  Boilersuit I caught on sale half off.  You reign in this dope snug sky blue peached cotton fabric long sleeve jumpsuit that has a pointed collar, front button closures with a twinin’ waist belt. The cut is loose fitted smoothly straight down to a tapered leg cut, pockets at the hips and all over custom cloud print.

I snatched my hair into a bun adding a coral, fuchsia, salmon, blush flush rose scrunchy. The jewelry was kept mildly delicate to not veneer the suit. Ok so ..I did leave my house w/ shoes on my feet (as will see on the last picture below) but I had show the ostentation of these sky blue ankle socks that have an all over heart and ruffle deetz that look cute AF as it enclosed & completes my provisions.

Legendary Empowerment

Away with summer in with fall,  brisk transitions clinching onto the final sun beams, skin felt burnt rays and shimmering golden days mother nature still has to offer. Present on this solar day, I prepped myself for an eventful evening channeling my inner chicana vibes from head to toe sporting my t-shirt from Legendary Empowerment

Legendary Empowerment is  founded by Vegas Brisa in 2013 straight out of Las Vegas on 90’s nostalgia and everything that inspired her growth in that era. The message behind the designs are meant to feel empowering, break social stigmas, promote unity and encourage people to recognize their own innate resilience.

Being my t-shirt the main attire staple for the outfit,  secondary to a superior completion I wore my dark brown BDG vintage inspired slouchy high-rise mom pants in a super cozy corduroy. High-rise waist with a straight, relaxed leg that tapers in at the ankle. Finished with 4 pockets & a button-topped zip fly.

In addition paired together, threw on simplistic chuck taylor classics, hiked up white socks, gold heart shaped bamboo earrings, tiger eye bracelets and gold accessorized rings.  As for my hair mixing eras, I styled it into timeless victory rolls using a old scarf I cut up to compliment the look. If you’re not familiar w/ victory rolls, its women’s hairstyle popular in the 1940 – 1960’s, characterized by voluminous curls of hair to frame the face.

Dolls Kill

Quick back story:  Tracing back to the spring time when I took a “girl’s trip” w/ a friend to Los Angeles. Mid-day on our way to cram & ingest brunch, cruising down LA’s boulevards in our rent-a-car we stumbled across a Dolls Kill store. Sudden gasp, all in awe’s among some mean eyeballing as we drove by, we both shouted “we gotta go there.” If you aren’t familiar w/ the brand,  Dolls Kill is an online boutique featuring a rebellious spirit and attitude, mixed with a bit of punk rock, goth, glam and festival fashion. As for those who know me, I mean those who really know me – know I’m always a punk kid at heart!

After digesting down & devouring brunch we made our way to the freshly new opened store in LA located on 415 N. Fairfax. Apace of pride, I strode away leaving w/ two staple pieces I can wear multiudinous ways.  These two staples being inspiration for my outfit involves and strictly revolves around a O-ring choker bull charm with a buckle closure and captain hat with a vinyl bill. Now, lets fast forward to present time where I accoutre everything in sync.

Aiming for more of a militant image, I assimilated a sleek yet simple all black garments. I gathered my thrifted belt, mid high wasted jeans and sleeveless black bodysuit in ribbed stretched jersey with a mock turtleneck and lined gusset with snap fasteners for that secure strapped in feel.

To execute the fit, I wore a pair of faux leather knee-high combat boots featuring a round toe, lace-up closure, side zipper, and buckle strap detail. My black skull earrings are from Tarina Tarantino. I just love her jewelry, very costume like and these classic  Memento Mori skull and black swarovski crystal detail. My rings & moon ring  are all from a boutique from different parts of Los Angeles.

Linen-blend Culottes

Let me communicate, its been long overdue..

Its unequivocal how elongated and prolonged my blog posts have become. A conscientious assertion, my distinct distractions as to being active have fell in between lethargic frenzied and inattentive. Granted, I’ve been stagnate on here but instead of beating myself down in the dumps, I’ve recited given verbal account – Im human, It happens, life happens and my life conjointly is happening. That being said, its not the easiest being your own team but here I am rolling w/ the punches once again. As for the first outfit on this reoccurrence comeback, unhesitatingly picked up these chambray colored denim bluish linen-blend culottes, in other words – trousers. My eyes drifted in the direction of these calf-length culottes in woven linen-blend fabric. It reaches to wear high waisted, It has a paper-bag waistband, adjustable belt, side pockets, with pleats at front and straight wide legs to keep it funky.

Apperceived from up jump, I wanted to array the color red.  At home I had this red ribbed knit bodysuit with a horizontal striped pattern, collar neck,  cheeky cut, and dual snap-button bottom closures that in fact will enhance the trousers with a pop of embellishment.

Keeping it transpicuous and comfy, I wore these all white tennis looking sneakers in cotton canvas with lacing at front, canvas lining and insoles with a looped back summating it w/ zebra socks for that diversity.
